Getting here

Thassos is accessible by ferry boat from the ports of Kavala and Keramoti. You can reach Kavala and Keramoti by airplane or by car through Egnatia Odos that runs from Igoumenitsa in the west to Alendroupoli, close to the Turkish borders, in the east.

From Kavala

The ferry from Kavala arrives at Skala Prinos and the trip is one hour and 15 minutes. During summer, there are 5 trips every day. When you reach Skala Prinos, you will drive or you will take the bus to Potos, which is 26km away. Turn right on the ring road that runs around the island and follow the signs for Prinos, Skala Sotiros, Skala Kallirachi, Skala Maries and Limenaria until you reach Potos.

From Keramoti

From the port of Keramoti, the ferry reaches Limenas (Thassos), the capital of the island. The trip lasts 35 minutes, and there is regular service, usually every half an hour during summer. From Limenas, you can come to Potos by car or bus. Turn right on the ring road that runs around the island and follow the signs for Prinos and then the same route with the one mentioned above.

By airplane

The closest airport to Thassos is Kavala Airport (Megas Alexandros Airport) which is close to Chrisoupolis just 17 km’s from the port of Keramoti. There is an all year round daily service to Athens and during the summer hosts charter flights from all over Europe.
